It made its first flight on May 24th 1962, strapped on the wrist of astronaut Scott Carpenter during the orbital flight of the Aurora 7 capsule. The special feature of this model lies in the fact that all 24 hours in a day can be read off around a single circular sweep of the dial, thereby enabling one to differentiate between day and night, since this notion no longer exists in space. Clasp fell off when I was trying to put it on right after opening the box. Very disappointed! I returned the watch the very next day.

Loved this gift. It was so easy to change the bands out. I got soft yellow, baby pink, white and black banks. The multiple bands really help me make my watch an accessory.

When I took it to the jewelers to have some links removed and asked about the extra length available in the clasp I was suprised to learn it was in case I wanted to wear it over my wetsuit! Didn't know I was getting a dive watch at 80!
